LINDA WILSON - In Memory of My Sister in Christ
Linda Wilson with Kurt Warner - She was so excited when she got to meet Kurt and get her picture made with him! This was at the St. Louis Race for the Cure! Boy! Did we have fun teasing my Mom because she didn't go with us and missed her opportunity!!

Linda Wilson, my sweet Sister in Christ, friend, encourager and traveling buddy, went on to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2004. Her third battle with cancer was finished....but she was not the looser! She gained her home in Glory and her pain is non-existent now! Even so, she will be missed so very much!

The lives she touched she will now, in Heaven, know about! I used to tell her, "Linda, you have no idea the lives you have touched! You are such a great listener and encourager! Those are your Gifts of the Spirit!" She had said, many times, "I know God has something for me to do, I just don't know what it is! Maybe it is to be a good listener and encourager! I just know He's not finished with me yet!"

And, He is still not finished with her! She may not be walking with us now, but her spirit will never leave us and her wisdom will continue to linger in us, that we may share it with others.

Linda was there for me when I found out I had cancer. She had already gone through her breast cancer and was a five year survivor! She was the blessing and encourager I needed! God had her there for me to answer my questions and help me when I was afraid!

Linda was there for me when I had problems with my children. She had been through similar experiences with her own children and God had provided her with the wisdom to help me get through some really tough times with my children.

Oh, how I have praised God for her over the years and will continue to thank Him for the friendship He allowed me to share with such a very special lady! And, a lady she was.....always soft and gentle with our friendship.....when she continued to battle her next two bouts of cancer, she always made herself look her best and talk of her love for God and Faith in Jesus! I have known only few so faithful servants!

It has been my honor and privilege to call Linda my friend and Sister in Christ! One day we will be able to again stand side-by-side and rejoice at the Wonders of our Lord! But, for now, my consolation is knowing she is walking with Him and has no more pain.....only Joy!

"I am safely home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light!

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on, could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows, pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth - You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!"
Here we are in front of the pink balloon arch at the St. Louis Race for the Cure
Linda and I attended two Race for the Cure's together! Always great fun to be with thousand's of other survivors and encouraged by their energy and testimonies!
Here we are at the Relay for Life, at St. Pius High School, in Festus
This annual event always found us there walking with other survivors and those who were currently going through cancer. It's a family we joined when we found out we had cancer....a family we never wanted to be a part of....but one we wouldn't trade for anything after-the-fact!
Grant's Farm sponsors a dinner for survivors and their families each year.
Linda and I had a great time EATING and enjoying the beautiful grounds of Grant's Farm in St. Louis. Linda had just finished and won her second battle with cancer and her hair had grown back!!!! It was a wonderful evening!
Linda shared many singing events with me! She was my encouraging smile out there....Oh, how she loved that Gospel Music! However, these pictures from our times together, sharing our cancer memories, are my most treasured! I hope her smile has touched your heart today and blessed you!
