News Letter - August 25, 2010

Holy Cow!!!!! The last time I visited you by Newsletter, I was hoping you had a great July 4th.....now I can say ONLY 4 MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!! Again, where is the time going??????
The new picture above reflects the wonderful time we had in February at my husband's 50th birthday party. Since he's a bib-coverall-kind-of-guy, we thought it would be fun to surprise him with as many people as possible wearing bibs. You can see most of the grandbabies followed through, as did most of the guests. It was a fun surprise for him!
I've been talking about the new gospel theater in this area. Mark Dean and his wife are doing a great job pulling in wonderful singers each month and have been talking about perhaps doing programs twice a month!!! This is just what we've needed in this area for some time. This is a great opportunity for local gospel talents to have a place to go share their music AND a wonderful Spirit-Filled place for folks to come enjoy the music and testimony of God! Admission is FREE.....a Love Offering is collected to help pay for the hall. All of the musicians/singers volunteer their time and talent. The event is held the first Friday of every month from 7-9:30 p.m. I've attended each month since it began and it has been packed each time. Check out the link on my Favorite Links page to keep up with who will be the featured singers. You will be blessed if you attend....PROMISE!
The Country Gospel Music Association (CGMA) held their East Central Division Convention in Park Hills at the River Worship Center in July. It was a week to remember!!! Talents come in from about 15 states and Canada to join in this convention. The event was packed each evening!
CGMA will also be hosting two Gospel Sings in October so be sure to check my calendar for more information. The first date will be Saturday, October 2nd, at my home church Emmanuel Baptist, south of Festus on Hwy 67, from 1-4 in the afternoon. The other event will be held on Saturday, October 16th, at River Worship Center, in Park Hills, MO.
We are having great Music Nights at my home church, being blessed with not only our own wonderful church musicians/singers but visiting talents as well! Come visit us some Music Night.....watch my calendar!!!
I will be heading to Branson, August 27-30, for the Gospel Praise Gathering hosted each month by The Best Is Yet To Come Productions, D.K. & Sherrie Brewster. What a blessing this event is each month! The Praise Gatherings are held at the Ramada Inn Convention Center on the Branson Strip, next to the Dick Clark Theater and across from the Dixie Stampede. These Gatherings are FREE with love offering collected for expenses only. All participants are volunteers and come from Kentucky, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and many other areas. Hope to see some of you there in August, November and December, when I will return for two more visits before the end of the year! Check out their link on my Favorite Links page!!!!
September 4th will take me to Piedmont, MO., will I will be joyfully participating in a fundraiser for the children of St. Jude's Hospital. This will be the first time I've been blessed with this opportunity but understand it to be an event well remembered! This will be an all day/evening singing and the details will be on my calendar. Check it out!
September 5th will be my birthday and the 6th will be my 14th anniversary of being cancer-free.....HALLELUJAH! God has certainly been generous to me.....I PRAISE HIS NAME!
October 9th, at noon, will be my Annual Celebration of Survival Luncheon. I will host this event at my home church, Emmanuel Baptist Church. Survivors of all types of cancer are invited to celebrate. RSVP's are necessary for this event, as I want to have plenty of food to serve to my brothers and sisters of this illness. It is a wonderful opportunity to be encouraged whether you are a survivor, going through current cancer, or have someone who has gone through and lost the battle. The annual MAGMA Convention will be held November 5th & 6th, at the Centenne Center, in Farmington, MO. I will be singing on Saturday evening. Friday evening the singing starts at 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. Again, go to my Favorite Links page and visit the MAGMA website for details and those participating in the program. There is a very small charge for admission with no love offering at the event.
Then, guess what????? We are at December and the focus on Christmas!!!! See.....it will be here before we know it!

My Momma is doing really well. We praise God every day for her recovery and the ability to be able to get out and about after her pelvic bone injury.
My brothers are doing better.....still need lots of prayers though for their health issues. As does my niece Jessica and her Momma (Jane). These are all serious health issues and we keep praying for relief for all concerned.
Children and Grandchildren are doing great.....no new ones on the way....YET. ha ha We are expecting three great nieces/nephews over the next few months, though, and in our family that's like our own grandbabies! Please lift all three in prayer for safe delivery and healthy babies.
It's been wonderful sharing all of these events with you.....hope to see you at a singing real soon!

God is so very Good! What more could we possibly ask for then, first, a knowledge of our Salvation through Christ Jesus and that security; second, our families and their good health; and, third, friends that we love as family and can depend on for encouragement and support! Life is wonderful.....we MUST "PRAISE GOD CONTINUOUSLY" for the protection He provides us as Believers and Workers of His Harvest!
Let us not forget what our purpose in Christ Jesus is.....to share the Good News and help lead others to His Saving Grace! Thank you, Dear God, for that great sacrifice of Your Son.....thank you, Dear Jesus, for accepting willingly Your sacrifice! We Praise and Honor, You, Christ Jesus and Dear Father!
I will close, as I always do, by saying:
My prayers go out to all who pass this way through the internet.....my prayers continue to lift my friends and family during these hard times....financially, physically and spiritually....trust and love in God through Christ
Jesus is our truest Hope.....really....our ONLY Hope!
